I. Presentation
For my presentation I choose to talk about Lalaland.
Lalaland is an American musical romantic comedy-drama film created in 2016 by Damien Chazelle.
The movie tells the story of two dreamers in L.A:
- Mia, played by Emma Stone, a young woman who dreams of becoming an actress
- Sebastian, played by Ryan Gosling, a passionate jazz pianist who dreams of opening his own jazz club
They meet by chance in a traffic jam, then see each other several times and little by little they fall in love.
They support each other to follow their dreams. When their careers start to grow, the success separates them; they take different directions and can't stay together but they still love each other.
I choose this movie because is my favorite movie:
- because it shows how difficult is to make your dreams come true
- that sometimes to do your goals you have to make painful choices
- because it explores the idea that love doesn't always last but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it
- It can still teach us things and change the way we see life forever.
To conclude Lalaland is a beautiful and emotional film that combines music, art and human emotions, is more than just a love story, it's a film about chasing your dreams, growing, facing reality and accepting that every choice has consequences.
